The Hills Have Eyes (2006) Review

Plot : A family named the Carters are traveling to California for their parents silver anniversary. While they’re making their way through the southwest they stop at a gas station, which is when the attendant tells them that they can take a shortcut through the hills to get to California faster. They start to travel down that road until their car breaks down and they become stranded in the middle of nowhere. The Carters soon find out that this area used to be Nuclear testing area and is supposed to be empty… or so they thought? They soon realize that they might not be alone and that they might have fallen into a trap that messed up their car. Will they survive the night?

Review : I would just like to start out with the acting in the film. Everybody did a fantastic job in their roles, this was an all around great acting performance. This film can really make you connect with some of the characters and really feel their pain. The story and plot were absolutely fantastic, the plot itself just brings so much suspense to this movie. The film really makes you think and ask yourself “whose killing these people and why?” The film just honestly did a great job with keeping us entertained and terrified the whole time. You will honestly never get bored while you’re watching this movie, not even for one second. This movie can seriously scare the shit out of you, whether its a surprising shot of a dog jumping up and barking or some creepy guy running after a girl while carrying a knife. Now just too warn all of you that haven’t watched this movie yet, if you get freaked out by blood or would squeal if you see somebody’s insides then this movie isn’t for you. The film is really graphic and is filled with bloody scenes and some disturbing ones, like someone eating the organs found within a body. Which is honestly fantastic it creeps you out and keeps your entertainment at an all time high and if you’re nit squeamish then you will seriously enjoy all the blood and guts in the film, I know I did! There were a few kills in the movie and the kill scenes were great. The suspense and blood made up for the low amount of kills, even though the kill scenes were still good as well.

Overall I really loved this movie, it kept me entertained and wanting more. The film keeps you scared and creeped out the whole time which honestly makes this movie such a good one. I absolutely have no complaints about this amazing movie, it delivered its greatness in all the ways that it possibly can. If you can tolerate seeing blood and guts then I absolutely recommend that you go and watch this movie because you will absolutely enjoy it. If you get squeamish from seeing blood I still would recommend you trying to watch the film because the plot and story is still great. You can just turn  away from the TV when the parts you don’t like come on, just give it a try but if you still don’t want to watch the film it’s understandable. I hope you all enjoy the movie, it is a great film and should be watched. You wont regret watching it!
