Plot: A re-imagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.
Review: To be completely honest with you all, when I heard that they were coming out with a remake for Carrie I got frustrated. I loved the original and I just assumed that this remake was going to ruin the original Carrie for me. This led to me never watching the film, until yesterday and I will admit that I have never been so wrong in my life. The remake is very similar to the original Carrie, but it also differs in some ways. Don’t listen to all the people bashing this movie because this wound up being a very solid remake. The story of Carrie was great and highly entertaining. This horror movie focuses on a young girl who gets abused by basically everyone in her life, including her mother and eventually snaps and goes on a killing spree. This story is very similar to the original Carrie, but the remake tries to modernize itself as much as possible. For example, in the opening shower scene the girl takes out her phone to record Carrie and eventually puts the video of her breaking down on You-Tube. You aren’t going to see that in a 1970’s movie and I’m glad they added that in there. Also, unlike the original we see more of Carrie’s mother in this film and how mental she really is, which was a very important part in the movie and I’m surprised we didn’t see that much of it in the original Carrie.
How was the acting? The acting performance was great, was filled with some very talented actors. Chloe Moretz was absolutely amazing in this movie and really fit the role of Carrie White nicely, she has a bright future ahead of her. Julianne Moore was also in this film and delivered like she always does, she also surprisingly fit the role of Carrie’s mother very well. Most of the supporting cast was nothing more than decent at best, Moretz and Moore really carried this film by themselves.
The movie Carrie provided tons of horror and can really make the viewer jump out of their seats. This is really where I saw a difference in the two films, the remake of Carrie contained way more gore than the original. There were plenty of kills with some great kill scenes, the film can extremely gruesome, but not really till the end. There was a good amount of blood and some pretty creepy and intense scenes. This version of Carrie can really terrify you. Overall I absolutely loved the remake of Carrie and thought it was highly entertaining. The remake is very similar to the original Carrie, but it also differs in some ways. It’s not exactly the same, which is a good thing. The story was good and I thought it was great how they tried to modernize the film. The acting performance was great, Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore were amazing in this film, but most of the supporting cast weren’t that great. The remake of Carrie provided so much more horror, kills, and blood. The kill scenes were absolutely intense and the movie also provided us with other scenes that were pretty gruesome as well. If you haven’t seen this movie yet I highly recommend that you go watch it. You won’t regret it, this is a must watch!
Plot : Several people start receiving voice-mails from their future selves – messages which include the date, time, and some of the details of their deaths.
Review : This movie actually wasn’t that bad, I was actually into it and was eager to see how it would end. The film got a 3.9 on IMDb and everyone that reviewed it basically trashed the film, which I think is ridiculous because the movie wasn’t that bad. The story did a good job with combining suspense and horror.
The story was pretty good, not great, but it was enough to keep you from being bored. I thought that it was unique and well crafted. This was a different type or story then the other supernatural horror films we see, which can probably be why some people didn’t like it. Personally, I thought it was entertaining. How was the acting? It was decent at best, Shannyn Sossamon and Edward Burns were likable, but their performances weren’t great. The rest of the cast were decent as well, nothing special about the acting in this film.
I remember watching this movie when I was younger for the first time and being absolutely terrified. Like I was literally jumping every 5 seconds. Surprisingly when I just re-watched this film today to give a good review, I was still jumping, except this time I didn’t jump as often. My point is that the film provides scares and can creep you out, maybe not as much when you’re older, but I’m sure you will still jump here and there. The kill scenes were creative and intense, kind of felt like I was in a Final Destination movie. Look at this creepy scene: Overall I enjoyed this movie, wasn’t crazy over it, but it was a decent film. The story was pretty good, it was unique and well crafted. The acting was decent at best, there weren’t and performances that stood out. The film does provide scares and can creep you out. There were a few kills, each kill had a creepy kill scene. The movie will make you jump and does a great job with combining suspense and horror, to keep the viewer entertained in the film.
Plot : A newcomer to a Catholic prep high school falls in with a trio of outcast teenage girls who practice witchcraft and they all soon conjure up various spells and curses against those who even slightly anger them. Will these girls use their supernatural powers for good or evil?
Review : This was a great and highly enjoyable film that will keep the viewer on the edge of their seat. I have to say that this is my all time favorite cult movie, it delivers in every way possible. The story was great, imagine being an outcast and you receive supernatural powers. What would you do with these new powers? Well things start going great for the girls, until some of the witches take it too far. The story does a great job with mixing horror, drama, and a little bit of comedy into one film to make a great movie. The supernatural scenes in the movie are crazy, you won’t want to turn away from the television. The acting was amazing! I absolutely love Neve Campbell and I thought that her and all the other actors in the movie did a great job with their roles. It was an overall excellent acting performance from the cast. They were fun too watch and we were able to connect with some of the characters. This is absolutely a cast that will be able to entertain you.
Now the entire movie may not be that scary but towards the end the movie can scare the shit out of you. I guarantee you that this movie will creep you out! The movie does lack blood, but honestly the film didn’t need any of that too be good. The supernatural scenes mixed with the creepiness that the film provides is what makes this movie so enjoyable to watch. There were a few kills and the kill scenes were absolutely crazy. Check this creepy scene.
Overall I absolutely loved this movie and believe that it’s one of the best cult movies to ever be produced. The story and acting in this movie were fantastic, I loved every single thing about the film. There really wasn’t much blood or kills but the kill scenes were crazy. The movie really didn’t need any of that to be good, the supernatural and creepy scenes make the movie a good one. The movie may not scare you the whole time but I guarantee that you will get scared, because it’s a creepy film. If you haven’t seen this movie I highly recommend you watch it. You won’t regret it! This is an amazing cult classic and I guarantee you that you won’t want to turn away from the television!
I give this movie a 9/10
Plot : Carrie White is a shy girl who doesn’t really have friends and struggles fitting in with the other kids in her school. Since she is an outcast we see her get bullied and abused very frequently throughout the film. One couple eventually feels bad and out of guilt, the girl allows her boyfriend to take Carrie to prom. Meanwhile another girl that has been banned from prom for her rude behavior is not so forgiving and actually plans a prank to embarrass Carrie in front of the whole school. What the students don’t know is that Carrie has a dark gift and you don’t want to get her angry. This is a prom that nobody will ever forget.
Review : This was honestly a great movie. Lets start out with the acting, once again I believe that it was a pretty good acting performance from the entire cast. Everybody did a great job with their roles, plus the movie had John Travolta in it, that’s how you know a film is great. The story was excellent in my opinion, I believe that this movie was based off a Stephen King book which is probably why the movie is so creepy, but the film did have a excellent story with a great plot. Now there really isn’t that many kills in this movie but the ending absolutely makes up for it, the ending was so gruesome and bloody, I loved it. Even though the kills are low and there isn’t a great amount of blood, we still get some scares and I don’t know why, but I love supernatural horror. There is just something about it that makes everything so entertaining. I believe that the best part of the film had to be the way that they made the viewers be able to connect with Carrie. You can honestly feel and see her pain and how much she had to struggle with her life. Its just makes you feel sorry for her and I like that we were able to have a nice connection with the main character. It was heartwarming and cab=n kind of make you understand why she would become crazy. Overall I really enjoyed this film and thought that it was a good movie overall. I do think that there could have been a little more kills, scares and maybe even blood in this film but it did have some crazy supernatural scenes and just was filled with a creepy vibe the whole time. Like I previously said, I really enjoyed being able to connect with Carrie, this movie is filled with emotion that can honestly make you shed some tears. If you haven’t seen this movie yet I absolutely recommend you go watch it. You wont regret it!
I give this movie a 8.5/10
This film starts off with a girl getting captured in the woods and is restrained in front of a lot of people in a basement. We soon find out that she is possessed and killed her mother which leads to her father burning her alive. The movie then skips to some time in the future when a girl named Mia and her brother David go to a remote cabin with their friends in order to help Mia get over her drug addiction. Mia starts to smell something really bad which makes her want to leave but everyone just thinks it’s withdrawal from the drugs but soon after they find a cellar which leads into a basement where there are a whole bunch of dead animals and a creepy looking book. One of the friends opens the book and ignores the warning and writing on it that says “leave this book alone” and starts to read the words from the book. This causes a demon to be released and it possesses Mia. She starts to freak out and steals their car and drives off leaving them at the cabin. As Mia is driving she sees a demonic version of herself which causes her to crash her car. The trees become possessed and tie her up so that the demonic version of herself can like put something in her, it was weird and scary. After she kills Davids dog weird shit starts to happen to her so they go to take her to the hospital but the roads are absolutely flooded so their is no way to take her so they go back to the cabin. This is when the movie starts to get really good, this is the first time we see Mia start to act possessed toward her brother and friends. She first tries to shoot her brother then vomits like blood in her friends face, then says you’re all going to die and she just starts flipping out. The kill/death scenes that are in this movie are absolutely crazy and terrifying. You see one girl cutting off her face then another girl cuts her whole arm off it was so creepy. I feel bad for Eric in the movie the poor guy got stabbed, shot with a nail gun,and beaten with a crow bar that made his hand split everything about this movie is just disturbing. Eric tells David that the only way to stop the demon is by killing his own sister but David insists that there has to be another way. This leads up to a crazy but very good ending, I don’t want to ruin the ending for anyone if they haven’t watched it but it’s really good. Overall I really enjoyed this movie it was creepy, disturbing, and scary so basically it contained all the elements that you need in order to make a good horror movie. It also made me laugh a little when the possessed Mia talked because she would always say some funny stuff and I like that they brought humor into this movie with the possessed girl. Like I said before the kill/death scenes although there was not a lot of them they were very disturbing which made them good in my opinion. I also thought that the story line in the movie was really good and the acting wasn’t that bad either. So to sum this all up it was a very solid film and I absolutely recommend you to watch it if you haven’t already.
I give this movie a 8/10

This movie really makes you appreciate life, it reminds us that death is always around us and we can die anytime. This film is about a kid named Alex and his classmates who continuously try to cheat death. The opening scene starts off with Alex and his class boarding a plane for a class trip, and this is when Alex gets a vision that the plane will explode so he freaks out and gets kicked off the plane with several students. As they are in the waiting room they watch the plane take off and it explodes. After that the people that survived the plane crash start dying off. One by one death starts to come back for the students in the order that they were supposed to die if they stood on the plane. Things start getting crazy and weird deaths start occurring which creep people out, but once they start realizing what is happening Alex tries to help save his classmates. They first find out when they sneak into the morgue and the doctor or whatever tells them that death has a design and it will continue to come back from them and he has to figure out when it is coming and how to beat it, although he has already beaten it by walking off the plane. This is when Alex realizes he sees signs and these signs can help him figure out who is next and how they will die. Overall, I really don’t have any complaints about this movie it was a pretty solid film and had a good story line. It gave us a new look at a slasher franchise without their being an actual killer that has a physical shape the killer is death itself. The kills in the movie were absolutely insane probably some of the greatest all around kill scenes i have ever seen in a film. The movie keeps you on edge making you wonder how each person will die and every time you see something you just assume that’s how they will die. The directors did such a good job with making most of this movie suspenseful and giving you a good rush. I absolutely recommend this movie and if you haven’t seen it yet you should go watch it now, you absolutely will not regret it. The franchise is also really good so make sure you watch the rest of the films.
I give this movie an 8/10
