Today is an extremely sad day. We all found out that the great horror icon himself (Wes Craven) has passed at the age of 76. The man created some of the best horror movies to date, along with 2 highly successful horror franchises that will continue to live on and show his legacy. Not only did Wes Craven help define the horror genre, but he also helped revive it when many horror movies were terrible in the late 90’s (Exception of Scream). Since you’re all following me, I’m pretty sure you’re all aware that Scream is my all time favorite horror movie franchise ever and hearing this news is terrible, but all that’s left to be said is thank you for the scares and for the memories. You will forever be the greatest horror director and will truly be missed!! Time for a marathon!
Plot: After a video of Audrey and Rachel kissing goes viral, high school student Nina and her boyfriend Tyler are brutally murdered which soon rattles Lakewood to a murderer who struck 20 years ago.
Review: It’s been a while since I’ve been on here, but most of you guys know the Scream series just started. All of you must’ve known I would have to come back to review this, I mean how couldn’t I , Scream is my all time favorite horror franchise after all. Let’s get more in depth with this review.
The story is mediocre at best, actually maybe a little better than that. Before I get into what I liked about Scream, there were a few things that I necessarily didn’t quite understand. For starters, the opening scene was kind of confusing and the way that the director had put those things together made it seem like that is the reason for these killings. I’m pretty sure we will get a better understanding of all that in the future, but they could’ve went deeper on that. The one thing I really like about the Scream story is how we’re learning everyones back story including the moms. That alone made me think about who the killer can be the whole episode and I’m glad I got that feel, because it felt like a Scream movie. Still don’t know how I feel about the mask, know they were looking for an original look, but it looks like shit compared to the original. How was the acting, you may ask? Well, it was absolute shit. I can’t even lie to you and say it was decent or one person shined. Like no, lol, they were all terrible. Honestly, don’t get your hopes up, because the acting will make you want to vomit. They were trying to be funny, but said some corny jokes that just made you dislike some of the characters even more. Only bright spot was Bella Thorne and we all know how that went. Although, this might have been good for her, look at where Scream has led Barrymore. Coincidence? I think not!
Did the Scream succeed as a horror show? In this area of Scream I believe the director absolutely delivered. I can’t lie the show did bring the terror, it kept my heart racing the whole time. Scream had a great kill scene, good blood, good build up(especially in the throwback scene), and did a good job in general with keeping the viewer on the edge. Just wish there can be more kills, but that’s not going to happen in Scream the show. This one was awesome though. Final Verdict: Scream had a decent pilot that I do feel is worth a watch. It will be interesting to see how this show progresses. It was nice seeing the character connection to Randy. The show also provided great scares and kills. Although, when it comes down to it, Scream lacked a strong story and had some terrible actors. The show kind of felt like three different things in one. That being Scream mixed with I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Pretty Little Liars. Would’ve been nice if they made it just feel like Scream, but I know it’s hard, which is why I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. Like Noah said.. “You can’t turn a slasher movie into a TV show.” I agree, but I wish this show the best.
This is just a little unboxing video that I did for the Friday the 13th complete collection box set. Friday the 13th is probably one of the best horror franchises to ever be created and I can watch all the films over and over again. Extremely excited to have this beautiful box set to add to my collection.
Plot: Jigsaw locks a few unlucky people in a booby trapped shelter and they must find a way out before they inhale too much of a lethal nerve gas and die. But they must watch out, for the traps Jigsaw has set in the shelter lead to death also.
Review: Well, since I’m currently up to Saw 6 and have been watching this franchise non stop lately, all of you guys can look forward to a marathon of Saw reviews. Honestly, I feel like Saw 2 might have been a better movie overall than the original. If you guys have been following my page you probably all know I’m not a big fan of slow build ups, but surprisingly it worked for Saw and I really enjoyed it but the second film just delivers in every way and comes out strong right from the beginning. Saw 2 is an excellent horror/thriller that absolutely keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats.
The story for Saw 2 was intriguing. It mainly focuses on a group of people who are trapped inside this booby trapped house and must find their way out before they inhale to much of the poisonous glass. They must play the game by the rules and somehow have something in common with one another, that they must figure out in order to win the game. Saw 2 provides us with some excellent twists that honestly left me speechless. I really couldn’t believe how good they were. All I can tell you guys that haven’t seen this movie is expect the unexpected because these twists will come back and punch you in the face. How was the acting? The acting in Saw 2 was actually highly enjoyable. The best part about the Saw franchise is that most of the cast is not well known, or even known for that matter, but still deliver excellent performances. Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, and Donnie Wahlberg are all excellent in the film and really get the viewers engaged with the film. The supporting cast in Saw 2 also did a great job with their roles and gave us great performances. It was a great performance overall from the cast.
Saw 2 had plenty of great scenes when it came to horror/thrills. There may not be too many scenes that make you jump, but the film can still creep you out in other ways. Saw 2 was filled with gory scenes, each containing a great amount of blood. Some of the scenes were honestly a little nasty, but who doesn’t love that. There was also more kills in this movie, which were mostly pretty insane. Saw 2 just had so much gore that can really keep the viewer on the edge of their seats the whole time. Overall I loved the movie Saw 2 and thought it was highly entertaining. The story was intriguing and can really draw the viewers in. The twists in this movie were fantastic, so make sure you pay attention. The acting was great, Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, and Donnie Wahlberg are all excellent in the film. Saw 2 did have excellent gore scenes, filled with lots of blood and great kills. If you are squeamish, please stay away from this movie. If not, I absolutely recommend you watch Saw 2. You won’t regret it!
Plot: With a dead body lying between them, two men wake up in the secure lair of a serial killer who’s been nicknamed “Jigsaw”. The men must follow various rules and objectives if they wish to survive and win the deadly game set for them.
Review: What’s up everyone! I know I haven’t posted in a while, but I’ve been busy with school and everything. Starting today I’m going to try to post once a week and for today I’m going to review the first Saw film. To be honest I actually never seen the Saw movies until now, kind of makes me feel like I missed out on something great. I can only imagine the hype that Saw had when it first came out and I thought it lived up to the hype. Saw is a highly enjoyable horror/thriller, but if you don’t like slow build ups you might want to skip to part 2.
The story for Saw was intriguing. The movie tries its best to get the viewers engaged and to have the viewers trying to anticipate who the Jigsaw killer might be. This story mainly focuses on two people who are trapped in Jigsaws lair with no memory of how they got there, or who the other person in the room with them could be and in order to get out alive they must play the game and follow all the rules. It’s a slow build up and we mainly focus on the description of Jigsaw, like who he is and what kind of nasty stuff he does. While we see those flashbacks, we get a look at the detectives trying to crack the case and find this psychopath. I was engaged the whole time and I actually want to play a game with all of you reading this, haha. For those of you that haven’t seen Saw yet, try to guess who the killer is. They show you him in the first 30 minutes of the film, this will absolutely keep your eyes on the screen. I figured out who it was but doubted my choice, cause I thought there could be no way. Just try to guess and remember enjoy the game! How was the acting? The acting in Saw was actually highly enjoyable. It’s actually rather surprising because most of the cast is not well known, or even known for that matter. Leigh Whannell, Cary Elwes, and Danny Glover were great in the film and really made the movie fun for the viewers. The supporting cast in Saw also did a great job with their roles and gave us great performances. I truly enjoyed the acting as a whole from this cast.
Saw did have a few good scenes when it came to horror/thrills. Like I said before, this was a slow build up movie so there weren’t really that many gory scenes until the end. Although, the gory scenes that Saw provided us with were absolutely crazy and filled with a ton of blood. If you are squeamish, then the Saw franchise is not for you, so please don’t watch the film. I do think Saw lacked kills, but everything else made up for that. Saw gave us great thrills and can really creep the viewer out.Overall I loved the movie Saw and thought it was highly entertaining. The story was intriguing and can really draw the viewers in. The twists in this movie were fantastic, so make sure you pay attention. The acting was great, Leigh Whannell, Cary Elwes, and Danny Glover really give great performances, along with the supporting cast. Saw did have great gore scenes filled with lots of blood, but I wish there were more kills. Saw did make up for it and gave us great thrills and scenes that can creep you out. I absolutely recommend you watch this movie, unless you’re squeamish, then I recommend you stay away. You won’t regret watching this film, if you can handle it!
Review: Before I watched Alien 3, I looked up some reviews and basically everyone bashed it. Now I don’t think that this is a great film but I do believe Alien 3 was a decent movie. You can kind of say I have mixed feelings about this movie, but I do feel like it’s a movie you can try out. Worse case scenario you turn the movie off if it’s really boring you. Hopefully you can enjoy Aliens 3!
The story for Alien 3 was decent at best. This story mainly focuses on Ripley, who once again has traveled 200 years into the future and is now in this high security prison, awaiting for a rescue team. The story has some good twists and would have actually been a great end to the Alien franchise, had they ended it after Alien 3.How was the acting? The acting in Alien 3 was somewhat okay. Sigourney Weaver was great in the film, but her supporting cast was horrific. I really didn’t feel a connection with any of the actors and at times they kind of make you get bored. They’re acting just wasn’t all that catchy and you probably will get bored watching them.
Alien 3 did have some pretty good scenes when it came to horror and thrills. What I realized with Alien 3 is that this movie kind of tries to embed the first two films into this one. The slow buildup of the monster and the action scenes from the second alien. The only thing I can say is that this movie had better gore and way more blood then in the second alien movie. There were a good number of kills and the kill scenes were pretty bad ass, so one can say that the movie did deliver in this area. Overall I thought that Alien 3 was a decent addition to the Alien franchise that can be somewhat enjoyable. The story was okay, but it kind of felt repetitive if you look back to the first two films. It did have its moments, which made me think it was good, but overall it was decent. The acting was pretty bad, besides Weaver’s performance. Everyone else kind of made me want to fall asleep. The movie thrived with its action/thrills/horror scenes and the good amount of blood and kills that Alien 3 contained. If you haven’t seen Alien 3 I would recommend that you watch it, because it was a decent addition to the series. The ending was actually pretty good and could have ended after this film. Just give it a try, it wont hurt.
Plot: As his kingdom is being threatened by the Turks, young prince Vlad Tepes must become a monster feared by his own people in order to obtain the power needed to protect his own family, and the families of his kingdom.
Review: Dracula Untold is a action/horror film that tells the beginning story of the feared Dracula. I was honestly trying to avoid watching Dracula Untold, due to all the negative reviews I saw about the movie. It’s just funny because Dracula Untold wasn’t bad at all, it could have been better, but it was a good film overall. I do wish Dracula Untold was a longer film because everything felt like it was moving too fast. This is a very underrated movie and is absolutely worth a watch!
The story for Dracula Untold was intriguing and could keep the viewers eyes peeled onto the screen. It follows the story of prince Vlad before he turned into the most feared vampire we know of today and gives us insight on his decision. In order to protect his people Vlad must turn to darkness in order to defeat his enemies, thus a legend is born. Dracula Untold brings us a more sensitive and noble look at the monster as well as some great thrills. How was the acting? The acting in Dracula Untold was good and highly enjoyable. Luke Evans, Charles Dance, and Sarah Gadon had amazing performances, but their the only ones that had major roles. The supporting cast did good, but honestly nobody else had a big enough role in Dracula Untold to get recognized.
Dracula Untold did lack a decent amount when it came to the scares, basically there weren’t any scare scenes. People just need to remember that this is a action/horror, so there aren’t going to be many scares. They did have to make Dracula Untold a little different from the other movies, because this was the beginning, it clearly would be different from other movies. Dracula Untold did contain a decent amount of blood, but I thought that the kills and action scenes were incredible. Sure there could have been more scares and blood, but scenes like this will always fill that void. Overall I loved the movie Dracula Untold and thought it was highly entertaining. The story was intriguing and keep the viewers entertained the whole time. One problem I had with Dracula Untold was that it was extremely short, I literally felt like I was flying through the movie. The acting was well done. Luke Evans, Charles Dance, and Sarah Gadon had amazing performances, as well as the supporting cast. Dracula Untold isn’t scary and lacks in blood, but it seriously made up for it with the amazing scenes that were in the film. They were honestly incredible and I can’t wait for the sequel, if there is one. If you haven’t seen Dracula Untold yet, I absolutely recommend you go watch!
