This is just a little unboxing video that I did for the Friday the 13th complete collection box set. Friday the 13th is probably one of the best horror franchises to ever be created and I can watch all the films over and over again. Extremely excited to have this beautiful box set to add to my collection.

This film opens up with a mother making wax sculptures while her son is eating breakfast in 1974. The husband comes in with their other child and the kid just starts kicking and screaming which leads to him accidentally kicking the table which causes the mothers sculptures too fall. In order to keep him calm they have to tie up his hands and feet to his chair. The kid scratches the mom which leads to the mom slapping the misbehaved child in the face. The movie then skips to 2005 where a girl named Carly and her twin brother Nick are traveling too a big college football game with their friends. It starts too get late so they all decide to pull over and just camp out for the night. While the group is drinking and having fun a weird looking pickup truck pulls up to where they are staying and just shines his lights on them. They tell the guy to leave but he doesn’t listen until Nick throws a bottle and smashes the guys headlights. The next morning they wake up and Carly goes to find out where the bad smell is coming from and she winds up falling into some area in the forest with a bunch of dead animals. When the group rescues her they run into a man named Lester who offers Carly and her boyfriend Wade a ride to the nearby town of Ambrose to get a new fan belt while the others go too the game because the one he had in his car was damaged. While they are at Ambrose they realize that it is a ghost town and they go into the wax museum but Carly wants too leave because the sculptures creep her out because they look to real. While they are there they run into a guy named Bo who tells them that he has a extra fan belt in his house, so they go up to the house and this is where we see Bo’s brother Vincent for the first time and Vincent stabs Wade and Bo holds Carly captive after she finds out that the truck that Bo drives was the car that was bothering them the night before. Vincent wears a mask made out of wax to hide his disfigured face, just like Jason from Friday the 13th. Meanwhile the others come back from the game because they weren’t going to make it to the game on time so Nick and Dalton go to the town to try to meet up with Wade and Carly. When they get there they split up and Dalton goes to the wax museum which is where he finds Wade covered in wax and is in the museum as one of the sculptures. Dalton tries to help Wade by picking the wax off his face but it removes his whole cheek and you actually see Wade’s teeth it was so gross. Vincent comes in and kills Dalton. There are good kills in this movie and all the events lead up too a really good ending that is actually surprising and kind of made me think there will be a sequel but it was very good. Overall I really loved this movie it kept me scared and entertained the whole time. There were enough kills and the kill scenes were good. The kill scenes were pretty gruesome and I love that in movie. Also the movie had a lot of suspense which can keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I loved the story line I thought it was very well thought out and written but I would have to say that the acting was probably the best thing in this movie. All of the actors in this film did a great job with their characters. The character of Vincent is also terrifying, he really scared the shit out of me. I have no complaints about this movie and I recommend that you go and watch it, trust me you won’t regret it!
I give this movie a 9/10
This film opens up with the ending scene from part two and shows Jason getting injured which leads us to part three. Jason goes to a local store to steal some clothes and winds up killing the couple that owns the store. After he kills the couple and gets his clothes Jason goes to a nearby barn and hides in it, so he can regain his strength. While Jason is hiding in the barn a girl named Chris Higgins and her friends go to spend a weekend at a house which happens to be right where the barn is. Now the girl Chris hasn’t been there in two years because some guy with a disfigured face chased her through the woods and she has been scared ever since. It was intense when she tells Rick the story and we actually see her struggling and trying to fight off Jason it was crazy and kind of makes us feel bad for Chris, the fact that she had to go through all of that and see that hideous face. Meanwhile Shelly and Vera take Ricks car and go to a store to get food and other stuff when they run into a bike gang that gives them problems. Shelly accidentally backs up into the gang members bike and the gang member freaks out and starts to break the windows of Shelly’s car. So in return Shelly comes back and runs over his bike in order to impress Vera which then causes the bike gang to follow them back to the house that they’re staying at and try to set the barn on fire. When they go to set the barn on fire Jason kills them and then starts to stalk the rest of the people. This story line was a little different from the first two films, being that it takes place with people just going to have a good time at a house instead of the camp counselor thing. Although the whole plot was still the same which is just Jason killing people that come by his territory. There were a lot of kills in this movie and after Jason kills Shelly he takes his hockey mask and puts it on so he can cover his face. This mask became such a key part of this franchise and wound up basically being Jason’s new identity. Overall I really loved the film. I honestly think that this movie was the best in the Friday the 13th franchise. We see a different story line that was pretty good. The kills in this movie were beyond amazing there were a lot of them and there was very good kill scenes. I was honestly so entertained throughout the whole movie it kept me on my feet and brought such great suspense as well. I really loved the way that they had him stalk his victims, it honestly makes the film so much better and scarier. I thought that them bringing in the hockey mask was such a great idea. I don’t know what it is but it really goes with this character and with these films. You can still see the hockey mask around till this day, especially on Halloween that is such a big costume for kids. The acting was also likable I think that they all did a good job bringing different characters into this movie and giving them specific personalities that made this film better. I really have no complaints about this amazing classic that is honestly my favorite film in the Friday the 13th franchise. If you haven’t seen this movie yet I absolutely recommend that you go watch it, you will not regret it!
I give this movie a 9/10
Friday the 13th Remake
Friday the 13th (1980)- The original Friday the 13th will always be one of the best slashers to ever be created. This story focuses on a group of teens that go to Camp Crystal Lake to become counselors because they are trying to reopen the camp. This movie is basically just teens partying and celebrating the reopening of the camp without even knowing that there is a killer on the loose that is stalking them and killing them one by one. Now if you are looking for the the Jason, hockey masked killer in this movie then you will be left with disappointment because he doesn’t show up until the sequel which leaves us with just some random killer. Which honestly I had no problem with it gave us a mysterious killer that is killing these teenagers for some reason that we really don’t find out about until the end and this gives this movie some great suspense. I thought that the kill scenes were pretty good, the one with the arrow going through Kevin Bacon’s neck was absolutely crazy. The story line fit well with the motive towards the end, when we find out that Ms. Vorhees is the killer and the reason she is doing these terrible things is basically for revenge because her son drowned when the counselors were supposed to be watching him. So I guess she feels like all the camp counselors that come to Crystal Lake deserve to die. The only thing I didn’t like about this classic was that we find out that the killer is Ms. Vorhees who is a middle aged women and she is able to just kill and throw people through windows like it’s nothing. It is kind of a little hard to believe that a women of her age can do all of that to the young men that are in the camp. Although I didn’t like that it didn’t mean that it killed the movie this classic was still very good and still gets talked about till this day. The acting was okay I thought that Kevin Bacon did a really good job but other than him everyone else was decent. Overall I loved the film it was a little unbelievable but the movie still had a great story line and some great kills. The suspense is probably what made this movie and showing how she stalked her victims and killed them so smoothly. It also wouldn’t of had hurt to put more of Jason in the film because this is his movie after all. I give this movie a 8/10.
Friday the 13th (2009)- This remake is basically the first 3 original Friday the 13ths in one movie. The movie starts out showing Ms. Vorhees getting her head cut off by a young counselor, just like in the original but in this movie it consumed only 5 minutes of the film maybe less but in the original it was the whole movie which was a little too much for me. They showed us really all we needed too see and that was that the mother died and this caused Jason to start killing. After that we see the Jason that wore a bag on his head for maybe half of the movie until he found the mask after he killed some poor guy in a barn and after that we see the Jason that wears the hockey mask. So right there it was like the three films in one. Now this movie starts off with a group of teens that go to camp crystal lake looking for weed plants and Jason winds up finding them and killing them but we find out later in the movie that he kept one girl alive because she kind of looked like his mother and was carrying the necklace with a picture of the mother in it. So instead of killing her he kept her alive kind of as a hostage. The plot of the movie is about a guy named Clay who is played by Jared Padalecki and Clay is looking for his sister around crystal lake where she has gone missing about 6 months ago. Even with that plot they still found a way to put partying and alcohol along with sex into this film with the other main characters in this movie who came up to one of the teens houses by Crystal Lake to party and have fun. The kill count in this movie is beyond high, there were so many kills and the kill scenes were all amazing like honestly it had me entertained the whole time. They also made Jason bigger in this movie and actually had him run after his victims which made it even more scarier and more realistic that he would be able to catch them by running instead of doing the really slow walk that he did in the film. The acting in this movie was off the charts I thought that all of the actors did a great job. The writers and directors did a really good job with putting their own original ideas into this movie as well. This story line was really good and you can tell they put a lot of effort and time into making their story of Jason different from the original. For the first time ever in a Friday the 13th movie we see someone try to explain and show how Jason always knows where his victims are around the camp and how he gets to them so quickly. They showed this by showing us that Jason set up traps that if someone walked over a certain area it would send a signal and would make a certain noise which will help him understand where the people are at. The same place that the signal would go to which was underground is the same place where Jason would go to hear the noise and to run to the location underground and get to the spot of the noise. It made Jason seem really smart and clever and I really liked that. Overall I really loved and enjoyed this movie it brought a new and original story to the Friday the 13th franchise and I think that the acting and directing/writing was very well done. I really have no complaints about this movie I loved everything about it. This was a great slasher film. I give this movie a 9/10.
What better day to post about Friday the 13th then on a Friday which happens to be the 13th. I just finished watching both of these films as we speak and I am going to probably watch a lot more.
So in my opinion the remake of Friday the 13th was better then the original. It just explained more things then the original did and cut out things that we really did not need to see, but don’t get me wrong I still think the original is a great film and everyone should still watch it but in my opinion the remake is the better film.
Before I even get to the review let me just start out by saying that this film started the slasher film franchises. John Carpenter did an amazing job with the whole film and he gave other directors ideas to help create slasher franchises of their own (like Friday the 13th). Overall there is nothing not to like about this amazing film. The acting was superb, Jamie Lee Curtis did such a good job as the lead role for her first major film. The opening scene gives you a look at 6 year old Michael Myers and shows you how troubled he is. We witness his first kill when he brutally murders his sister in her own bedroom. It was just amazing seeing his expression how they made him walk out the house and wait for his parents like it was nothing as if he didn’t just kill his sister even though he was holding a knife covered in blood in his hand. This night which was on Halloween (which is why he was wearing the clown costume) is when Michael Myers gets sent to a psychiatric prison because of the horrible things he has done. They skip 15 years into the future after that to when Myers breaks out of the prison and drives away. I personally love that scene because how the hell does he know how to drive? Like he has been locked up since he was 6 he should not know how to work a car, but oh well I found it funny anyway. This is when Jamie Lee Curtis first appears in the film and everything sees normal, she is just a regular teenager that’s going to high school. We also see more of Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasance) who was his psychiatrist for 15 years and he knew from the beginning where Michael was going but nobody ever believed him. He also was the only one who realized how truly evil Michael is. So yea, Michael went back to Haddonfield which was his childhood neighborhood but we didn’t really know why he was so interested in Lori (Jamie Lee Curtis). But we we eventually find out that she is Michael’s younger sister so he basically just wanted to kill off his family. The kills are not that gory but I really liked the kill scenes they did a marvelous job with anything, honestly no complaints. There isn’t really that many kills in the film there is more of a stalking type of vibe in the film. The ending was intriguing it really gets you into the movie the fact that Dr. Loomis shoots Myers and Myers falls off the balcony and down to the ground. Now we assume that he is dead but when they go down there to see if he is there or not he just vanished. He was no where to be found. This shows the audience that he is immortal but unlike Jason Vorhees if Michael gets hit he stays down for a while like a minute or maybe even more whenever Jason got hit he just bounced back up. That just makes it so unfair. But there really isn’t much that you can say about a classic film like this one but I enjoyed it and if you haven’t seen it yet know would be the time to watch it.
This sequel to the original Friday the 13th was spectacular. The film opens up with Jason killing the girl that survived from the original movie. We don’t know how he got there and how he found her but I guess we can just say he stalked the girl wherever she went. Basically this film has the same story as the original film; it’s about a couple of teenagers that come to the camp to train for their counselor jobs. Now in this movie we see that Jason wears a bag over his head and not the hockey mask, which doesn’t come in until the next film. I personally like the hockey mask more but I know a couple of friends that thought that the bag made it more mysterious and scary, but what is so scary about a bag over someone’s face? Like that should make people laugh not be scared. What I liked more about this movie was that there were more kills and they were way more intense then the first film. For example, the scene where Jason kills the guy in the wheelchair shows us that he is bad ass and he doesn’t care who you are if you come in his camp he is going to kill you. I also really like the scene where Ginny (Amy Steel) puts on Mrs. Vorhees clothes and pretends to be Jason’s mother. We see how vulnerable Jason is when it comes to his mother because right when he sees Ginny wearing his mother clothes he stops and like calms down but he eventually snaps out of it and continues to chase her. The only thing that I didn’t like about this movie was the ending when Jason breaks through the glass and grabs Ginny and then she wakes up because it was a dream, but when she wakes up she yells for Paul which is her boyfriend that just disappeared out of nowhere. I didn’t like how they didn’t show what happened to him that they just made him vanish but overall besides the ending it was a very good movie and most definitely continued the legacy of Jason.
