Review: Season one of The Strain has come to an end, and the last two episodes were great. We basically just see our group of vampire hunters try to take down the master once and for all. These episodes will absolutely keep you entertained.
The story line for both of these episodes were great. Episode 12 of The Strain focuses mainly on Eph and the crew trying to figure out a way to get their message out to the city, and with the help of Dutch they wind up being able to get the message out. Unfortunately for the group, towards the end of the episode, Eichorst leads a group of vampires into Setrakians safe house, which causes the gang to flee. Although, I would have to say that the most important thing that occurred in this episode had to be when the master heals Palmer. I can’t wait to see how Palmer’s role grows in The Strain. In episode 13 of The Strain the main focus of the story is the group trying to plan one final attack to destroy The Master once and for all. This episode shows us a lot of planning, where the group is discussing their plans. This episode also showed us a lot of Gus, who looks like will be joining the vampire hunting group. I honestly am excited to see Gus get more action in the show, looking forward to seeing him. Eph also realizes that Zach needs to start learning how to take care of himself, so we are starting to see a young Carl yet again. The most important scene for this episode had to be when Zach sees his mom at the end. It was emotional seeing that scene, but Eph realizes that he must do what he has to in order to keep Zach and himself alive.
There wasn’t really that much horror in episode 12 of The Strain, but episode 13 provided plenty of great horror scenes. The Strain is just completely creepy and offers us great kills and so much blood and gore. I absolutely guarantee you that the final episode will scare you. I loved seeing the gang take on The Master and his strongest minions, it was also great seeing that The Master has some crazy abilities. He is able to survive out in the sun, we don’t know how long, but we know that he can step out into the sun if he must. The master is seriously bad ass, he needs to be in the show more.Overall I loved both of these episodes and thought that they were both entertaining. The story was great and can keep you highly entertained. The story focuses on the group trying to warn the city about the vampires and trying to kill The Master once and for all. I am mainly interested on seeing how Zach and Gus’s roles will grow in the show. I love Carl in The Walking Dead, and I’m hoping that Zach has the same role as him. The kills were crazy, and it was interesting to learn more about The Master and some of his special abilities. If you haven’t seen this episode I highly recommend you go watch it. You wont regret it! The first season of The Strain was a great one!
