Plot : Thomas is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased, soon learning they’re all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow “runners” for a shot at escape.
Review : I know that this movie isn’t necessarily a horror film, but I saw it today and just had to review it. This movie was absolutely amazing, like seriously everything about this film was perfect. It was highly enjoyable and will absolutely keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
The story was great, basically a group of kids must fight their way through a maze in order to get out alive. Only problem is there’s some big creatures they must face and some trust issues they must overcome, but the main problem is they don’t have any memory of their pasts. It was interesting too see Thomas having dreams of his past and finding clues which eventually makes him remember who he was. The mystery and thrills in this story were incredible. How was the acting? The acting performance was absolutely amazing, I will tell you this, the movie was filled with a group of highly talented young actors and they all had amazing performances. Dylan O’Brien is so talented, I can’t even describe too you how great of an actor he is. I’m a big Teen Wolf fan and he just completely dominated this role and was a fantastic lead, he has a bright future ahead of him. The supporting cast of Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Will Poulter, and others also did great.
The movie wasn’t completely terrifying because it wasn’t necessarily a horror film. Although, the movie can make you jump, there are a few scenes that can make you jump and have you creeped out. There were a few kills in the film and some intense kill scenes. Since the movie wasn’t horror it mainly thrived from the thrills and mystery that was involved in the movie and they both helped the film be a great success. Run Dylan!Overall I absolutely loved this movie and thought it was highly enjoyable. The story was great, kind of felt like I was watching The Hunger Games, it had that type of vibe to it. A group of kids that are stranded and forced to fight there way out, except in this movie the humans try to stick together. The acting was fantastic, Dylan O’Brien absolutely owned this role and did a great job as the lead. The movie wasn’t completely terrifying because it wasn’t necessarily a horror film, but it can still scare you. The kills were insane and I loved the thriller/mystery vibe of this film, it was amazing. If you haven’t seen this movie yet I highly recommend you go watch it. You won’t regret it, this film is a must watch!
