Plot : Nerdy, reserved bookworm Needy Lesnicki, and arrogant, conceited cheerleader Jennifer Check are best friends, though they share little in common. They share even less in common when Jennifer mysteriously gains an appetite for human blood after a disastrous fire at a local bar. As Needy’s male classmates are steadily killed in gruesome attacks, the young girl must uncover the truth behind her friend’s transformation and find a way to stop the bloodthirsty monster.
Review : This film wasn’t that great but it wasn’t terrible either. It’s a decent horror film that can keep you entertained and can creep you out the whole time. Honestly, I really wasn’t feeling the story and the plot all that much. Others may disagree, but the story just wasn’t working for me. It was a story that made me bored and one of those movies that felt like it took forever to end. I just feel like they could have tried more with that story, that’s all. It’s a shame because the acting in the film was great, like honestly everyone did a great job with their roles. The beautifully talented Megan Fox did a great job with her role and I feel like she fit the part nicely. Amanda Seyfried also did a good job with her role, but honestly there were some moments when she got on my nerves. Everyone knows she is a talented actor and she delivered in this film, but she was just annoying in some parts of the film. The rest of the cast all had solid performances, it was an all around great acting performance.
Now it’s time to get to the blood and gore. There were a decent amount of kills and some real gory kill scenes. This movie really delivered when it came to blood, the whole film was honestly filled with it. That’s the one thing I love about this movie, it was really gory and seeing all the blood and kills really is what kept me from turning the television off. This film can also scare the shit out of you, just looking at Jennifer when she changes into a vampire will make you jump, the makeup artists did a fantastic job. This movie will absolutely keep you on the edge of your seat and probably wanting to close your eyes at times, which is a good thing. Overall I thought that this was a decent film that was enjoyable to watch. The story really wasn’t working for me, but I thought that everything else was great. The acting was very well done, anything with Megan Fox in it is at least worth a watch. What really helped make this a enjoyable film was the blood and scares that the movie provided us with and there were a lot of them. The movie can honestly creep you out, but that’s why we watch horror movies. If a film doesn’t creep you out even a little bit, then it failed as a horror movie, although that may not be in all cases. If you haven’t watched this film yet I would recommend that you watch it, but don’t get your hopes up. The film was enjoyable but it wasn’t that good.
I give this movie a 7/10
