Review : This was an interesting episode, we continue to learn a little more about the characters. I believe that the focus of this weeks episode is transformation, not only with the infected, but with the regular characters as well. We don’t really see the creatures of the night that much in this episode, even though they still were in it for a good amount of time, this episode was mainly about Eph and Jim and how their past is impacting their lives now. We can tell the show is still developing into what it will become and honestly, it looking great. Now I first looked at the name of the episode and was trying to understand why they would name it “Gone Smooth.” Well, the directors had no problems with bringing us some disturbing and creepy ass scenes this episode, which is great. Gabriel is starting to look really gross, his skin is pale, eyes are bloodshot red, and well while he was peeing his manhood drops into the toilet. Yes everyone his manhood, and he turns around and all you see is a smooth area. It was creepy, but it made me laugh because when it dropped into the toilet he didn’t even show a surprised expression or anything, he just flushed it away. No fucks were given there, LOL! It was great though.
Now for the plot of the episode, it was a great little story that they had going on, I liked learning more about the characters and loved seeing the transformation process occurring with the vamps. I also liked seeing Abraham get out of prison and right away try to start taking out the vampires. He is a very interesting character and I hope that they start putting him in the show more. There was only two kills in this episode, but it had an intense kill scene. The episode also had a nice amount of blood and scares. We really didn’t have much gore because the episode mainly focused on Eph and Jim but there was enough blood and had it’s fair share of scares, with a bit of creepy scenes, which helped make the episode great.
Overall I loved this episode and thought it did a great job with character development and showing us more transformation scenes with the vampires. The plot was intriguing and can really get you more into knowing more about the characters and the show itself. The show had blood, scares, and enough creepy scenes to make this show a good one. After seeing the trailer for the next episode, it looks like the show is going to start getting more interesting. Can’t wait! If you haven’t watched the episode yet get to your TV now and go watch it!
I give this episode a 9.5/10
