Plot : A man arrives at a hospital looking terrified and holding on to a Halloween mask, which was produced by a mask making company called “Silver Shamrock Company”, who then proceeds to scream ” They’re going to kill us”. The man is then placed in the care of Dr. Dan Challis. Not that long after the man gets killed in his hospital room by a man in a suit, who then walks to his car and sets himself on fire. Dr. Challis and Ellie (the man’s daughter) begin to investigate the creation of these masks. This is when they meet Conal Conhran (the maker of the masks) who plans to destroy all of the children in America. Will the kids be safe on this upcoming Halloween night?
Review : The biggest problem I have with this movie will probably have to be the name of the film. This to me doesn’t make sense because Michael Myers wasn’t even in this film. That without a doubt had to be my biggest problem with the film. How do you make a sequel or a next chapter of a movie franchise and not put that horror icon in the film? After Halloween 2 they came out and said that Michael Myers story is finished and that they’re going to try to make a film each year that has to do with the theme of Halloween. Does this mean that the whole movie was terrible? No, but they shouldn’t have put it in the Halloween franchise. I personally think that they did a good job with the story, they made it very original and at that point I don’t think that a horror film ever targeted children, so that was a big risk they put in the film. Even though this wasn’t a slasher film it still had its number of deaths, which had some pretty good death scenes. For example, I was so shocked and horrified when the guy in the suit set himself on fire in the very beginning. That right there got me into the film, like that was a intense ass scene and it was in the beginning so it kind of made you think “like if it’s this bad ass now how much better will it get later on in the film”. The film is pretty graphic and I think that shit is awesome! I think that the acting in this film was actually pretty solid as well, everyone did good with their roles in the film. Overall this wasn’t a terrible movie, it is worth a watch . Just because it has nothing to do with Myers doesn’t mean you shouldn’t at least give it a try, just treat it like it isn’t apart of the Halloween franchise and I’m pretty sure you will enjoy the film a little more. So if you haven’t seen the movie yet I would recommend you to go watch it because it is a decent horror film that does deserve a chance. Live by the saying “Never judge a book by its cover”, well in this case don’t judge a movie by its title. It might surprise you!
I give this movie a 7/10
