This film is about a college kid named Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) who is trying to get to Ohio during a zombie outbreak to see if his family is still alive. The movie is a horror/comedy film and we kind of get both of that right at the opening scene, the film starts up and we see the rules that Columbus has made up in order to survive the zombie outbreak. While showing us his rules we see some gruesome and funny scenes. As Columbus is making his way to Ohio he meets a guy named Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) who is highly obsessed with finding Twinkies. On their journey they meet up with two girls named Wichita (Emma Stone) and her sister Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) who are con artists and steal Tallahassee’s escelade while they are trying to help the girls. Soon after that the guys find a yellow hummer that is stacked with weapons and continue on their way hoping that they find the girls again which they do. The escelade was left in the middle of the road with a bunch of weapons but it wound up being another trap by the girls. This time they don’t get away and everyone decides that it will probably be better off if they stick together. This is when the girls tell them that they plan on going to “Pacific Playland” where there is rumored to be no zombies. Columbus asks the girls what they heard about Ohio and they told him it was covered with zombies, so since he has no reason to go back home he decides to go to the amusement park with the girls. the group starts to make their way towards the amusement park. All the events lead up too a good and very touching ending. Overall I loved this movie and it will always be one of my favorite zombie movies of all time. The story line was really good and it has some great actors in it that all do a marvelous job with their roles in the film. This movie is also a true definition of a horror/comedy film it brings both of those genres into one and does a nice job with joining them into one movie and making it work because even though this movie is really funny it can give you a good scare too and I actually did get scared throughout the film. Other horror movies that are in that genre really don’t do that and I give the director/writer credit for making it look so good in this film. The best thing about this movie had to be the bad ass scenes that were in it and all of these scenes basically occur when Woody Harrelson is beating the shit out of zombies or shooting multiple zombies within like 2 seconds and making it look extremely cool and easy. It also had its share of gruesome scenes, like some of the parts in this movie would just creep you out but I love it because in my opinion that’s what a zombie movie should have. This was just an all around great film and if you haven’t seen it yet I absolutely recommend that you go and watch it. You wont regret it!
I give this movie a 9/10
