The third film in the Scream franchise lived up to it’s hype. This film was very good and is my second favorite Scream movie in the franchise behind the original. The movie opens up with Cotton Weary getting a call from the mysterious killer and all the killer wants to know is where is Sidney hiding. Cotton doesn’t tell him and rushes home to his girlfriend but she doesn’t trust him because ghost face had Cotton’s voice and attacked her. So when Cotton actually arrives at his house his girlfriend starts to swing at him thinking that he just tried to kill her 5 minutes before. While she is focused on Cotton ghost face comes in and stabs her, which leads to a fight between Cotton and the killer. The result is Cotton dying in the opening scene and I am not going to lie it was really disappointing to see Cotton die that quickly. I was really looking forward to his character in this movie but its not like he was a main character so it wasn’t that big of a deal. After the opening scene we see Sidney walking with her dog and go into her home which looks like it is in the middle of nowhere. Eventually we find out that she has just been hiding from everyone and not keeping contact so that she can remain safe. So we really don’t see Sidney throughout the whole movie. This film mainly focuses on the killer killing people that are acting in the movie Stab 3. Which is just a movie within the movie of Scream. As ghost face kills each of his victims he leaves a 20 year old picture of Maurine Prescott. Dewey and Gale start working with the police force to try and find out why he is leaving pictures of Maureen from so long ago but they have no idea. Which makes Detective Kincaid want to speak to Sidney because he feels she may be of some help. As he tells Dewey to call her we see Sidney walk into the station and she tells Dewey that she came down here because the killer called her home and found out where she was. So know we got the original cast back together again and they’re all trying to survive. The events that take place lead up too probably the greatest ending I have ever seen. Nobody expected it coming, the ending was absolutely perfect. Overall I loved this movie, the kill count was high and the kill scenes were great. The acting in the movie was absolutely amazing but it could not compete with the story line. The story line was excellent I loved how they connected this film all the way back to the original especially the part of the movie when the killer wrote on the back of Maureen’s picture and wrote “I killed her.” It made you just want to know who this killer is and why he did all of this too Sidney and when they reveal him and they actually tell us who he/she is you will be shocked. The ending was great I really loved it. The film brings great suspense, kills, and good comedy as well. It is a great movie all around and if you haven’t seen this movie yet I absolutely recommend that you watch it, you won’t regret it!
I give this movie a 9.5/10
