The notorious serial killer that scared the shit out of me when I was younger and was probably the reason why I hated dolls or any toys for that matter. The film focuses on a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray who was in a shootout with a cop in the beginning of the movie and he realized that he wasn’t going to get out of their alive in his body, so he used possession and possessed himself into a doll. Now after we see all that the toy store explodes and Charles Lee Ray is believed to be dead but all of that changes when a young boys mother buys him a good guy doll (Which is the doll that Charles possessed himself in to). The night that Andy gets the doll a murder already happens and he tells people that it was Chucky ( Which is Charles nickname and the dolls name), but nobody believes him. Who would though? The thought of a doll killing people is just ridiculous just because of the fact that it isn’t real and is made out of plastic. So eventually everyone starts thinking the little boy is crazy and that he has no idea what he is talking about, so they send him to some mental asylum for children. Although he is away he still is not safe from Chucky and the reason why Chucky is so obsessed with this kid is because the rule is the first person that he tells his secret to he has to possess their body and not anybody else. He also has a limited amount of time to possess the person or he starts to get human traits again and can eventually die. we see Chucky go after the cop that “killed him” and they have an altercation but the cop survives it and this is when the cop believes Andy and so does the mother because just before that she had an altercation with Chucky and realized the doll didn’t even have any batteries in it and was talking and everything. This leads up to them looking for Andy and bringing them back to Andy’s house where they end Chucky by shooting him and burning his whole body on fire. This doesn’t mean that was the end of Chucky because if you haven’t known already their are multiple films in this franchise. Overall i absolutely loved this film, it had a great story line and I loved the kill scenes. The kills were smooth, silent, and quick. Which made Chucky look and seem invincible. Even though the movie is not suspense it keeps you on the edge the whole time because it makes you worry so much about the kid. Everything was very well written and the acting was superb. You honestly can’t beat a classic. If you haven’t seen the movie yet you should go watch it like now! You would be missing out if you don’t.
I give this movie a 9/10
