This sequel to the original Friday the 13th was spectacular. The film opens up with Jason killing the girl that survived from the original movie. We don’t know how he got there and how he found her but I guess we can just say he stalked the girl wherever she went. Basically this film has the same story as the original film; it’s about a couple of teenagers that come to the camp to train for their counselor jobs. Now in this movie we see that Jason wears a bag over his head and not the hockey mask, which doesn’t come in until the next film. I personally like the hockey mask more but I know a couple of friends that thought that the bag made it more mysterious and scary, but what is so scary about a bag over someone’s face? Like that should make people laugh not be scared. What I liked more about this movie was that there were more kills and they were way more intense then the first film. For example, the scene where Jason kills the guy in the wheelchair shows us that he is bad ass and he doesn’t care who you are if you come in his camp he is going to kill you. I also really like the scene where Ginny (Amy Steel) puts on Mrs. Vorhees clothes and pretends to be Jason’s mother. We see how vulnerable Jason is when it comes to his mother because right when he sees Ginny wearing his mother clothes he stops and like calms down but he eventually snaps out of it and continues to chase her. The only thing that I didn’t like about this movie was the ending when Jason breaks through the glass and grabs Ginny and then she wakes up because it was a dream, but when she wakes up she yells for Paul which is her boyfriend that just disappeared out of nowhere. I didn’t like how they didn’t show what happened to him that they just made him vanish but overall besides the ending it was a very good movie and most definitely continued the legacy of Jason.
